I know, I know...painting is dead. But I have got to say that it is startling and refreshing to view a painting in this growing digital and conceptual-art-object age. I like to think about renaissance painters slashing "Brice Marden-like" strokes across their royal portrait in-progress and then stepping back pondering what they have created...knowing that they would be mad to show anything of the like!
