Why are all of you a bunch of KAWS haters? He's still more interesting than half of the same old boring post grad artist who wants to hint at minimalism/abstract painting/based off some dinosaur ass 1950's art theory/Hegel quote taken too literally, but is too lazy to make anything that looks good or thinks that anything decorative/pretty equals bad art.
I agree, whats the point @Graham&Cheese? You're using mediocre art to justify the promotion of vapid illustration. That's like saying that if, say, the latest crop of literature on the NYTimes bestseller list is not particularly inspired or original, then we can turn to Danielle Steele and hold her up as a great writer. It's ignorance.

are you saying that you think it is long or short? it is MUCH shorter than his last show there.
the point is not the length of the line. the point is that there was a line at all.

if the LA art scene has to hold up KAWS as "at least it's better than most of the other crap in this town..." Well, what's the point?

danielle steele is a great writer!
I wouldn't call those Kaws paintings "vapid illustration." I think they're pretty good.
I think Kaws' success is an example of the "provincialism bred by major cities"
