Fantastic idea that I rarely tire of...the artist's tome as portrait as post impressionism as cult object as painting (and so much more)!
I recall Dave Mueller's record collection drawings over at Blum & Poe when I see these. Also, I vaguely remember seeing a few paintings in the back of Walter Maciel's that depict Taschen's ART NOW volumes in various states of catching fire vis-a-vis Ed Ruscha?? Can't recall the name - perhaps they were Frank Ryan's?
anyways, great post! I've yet to visit Ghebaly in their new space - must do!
